B6/1 – PAULINE MONK GEORGE MARTINUZZI (1482–1551)
Picture: The execution of György Fráter, fresco (Jasna Góra Monastery, Czestochowa, the hallway of the monastery)
After one and a half decade of monastic retirement, he first became Prior of Sajólád, Bishop of Nagyvárad, and later Archbishop of Esztergom. The white friend acted as a politician, as a true statesman during the establishment of the independent Principality of Transylvania. The opportunity for the autonomy of Transylvania became lost, as he lost the trust of both the Ottoman Port and the Habsburg court while equilibrating between the two. In the Advent of 1551, Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor had the prelate, shortly before that appointed as cardinal, executed by his own mercenary soldiers. The monk wearing the white habit until his death was assassinated in the middle of the night, while raying.

B6/2 – GYÖRGY CSEPELLÉNYI (1626–1674)

He was one of the victims of denominational battles. As commissioned by Pope Clement IX, as a Pauline monk of the Monastery of Sátoraljaújhely, he of the History of the Pauline Order carried out missionary work in the north-eastern part of the country. He converted the population of several villages to Catholic faith. In March 1674, he was kidnapped from the parish of Füzér by infuriated Protestants, and after sixty consecutive days of torture, they beheaded him.

B6/3 – FERENC VEZÉR (1914–1951)
Picture: Ferenc Vezér, 1940s – the tomb at Pálosszentkút in 2019
He was arrested by the Communist regime in 1951, then sentenced to death as the 9th special defendant of the Grősz trial. He was the emotional support and comforter of his fellow cellmates in the death row. His body, as those of hundreds of convicts, was buried face-down and tied up. He was ceremoniously reburied in 2012 in Pálosszentkút, at his one-time place of service.
